I wish we could've had a poster made for U4. I still remember getting this poster emailed to me by a church friend who was a great graphic artist. I also remember getting my mind blown away.

It's been sitting at the middle right of the site for about a month now, but I wanted to draw attention to the Facebook page for the Ultrakids movies. If you have a Facebook account and enjoy the Ultrakids movies, you can like the page at facebook.com/ultrakidsmovie

Funny story how I created that page. I tried to get the URL facebook.com/ultrakids but I accidentally set it to my personal account's URL instead.
After removing the URL, Facebook for some reason doesn't let anyone else use it. Even if it's not being used. So I had to make it facebook.com/ultrakidsmovie instead.

Anyways, check it out and like the page. See you guys soon.

Here's the situation: you've got a beautiful computer monitor with an incredibly fast hard drive and high-speed internet connection. Everything is perfect except...
The problem: You need the perfect desktop background to go with the perfect computer. But you can't find one! After days of searching the web, the best you can find was the picture below.
Bunnies are not really that cool
You're stumped! Where on earth could a good desktop background be???

Well true believer, look no further. Here, right here in this very spot you can download a really high quality Ultrakids desktop background! Right here! Right now! Could things get any better?

Yes they can! For only $29.99 you can get a free autographed copy of a half-eaten pizza that was partially digested by Laserboy himself! Usually movie trailers come out before the movie, but this is an exception.

Can't remember when I made this, sometime after Ultrakids 3 which I thought for sure was the last Ultrakids movie. The streaming asteroids coming down towards earth is kinda reminiscent of the fireballs during the climax of the "real" Ultrakids 4. Check out those hokey credits.

Btw, the glowing eye is not a special effect. It's just a carefully placed shot of my brother Tim with his eye matching the sun's position. :)

So everyone knows that many DVDs and Blu-ray movies come with a "digital copy" of the film that you put on your iPod and stuff. In reality, you're paying money to save yourself time from illegally ripping it off the DVD or Blu-ray.
BUT luckily for all the Ultrakids fans out there, you won't have to un-illegally rip the movie off Vimeo or pay extra for a digital copy because we have a FREE digital copy right here at Ultrakids.org for you to download! It won't look that great on your computer (probably better downloading the Vimeo version for computer playback) but if you have an iPod or iPhone, it will look fantastic. I know this first-hand because I tried it out myself. Download below:

Download link (Rapidshare)

I'm not sure if it will work if you have an Android or other smart phones because I haven't tested it out there.
Basically click the link to rapidshare.com. Click the slow waiting option and wait a little over an hour to download the file. Yeah, kinda stinks, but if you know any better file uploading services, let me know in the comments! I'll probably try MegaUpload as well sometime soon.

Today was the third and final premiere of Ultrakids 4: Hero Camp. It was also the biggest premiere with our own popcorn machine and the largest screen out of the three showings.
The biggest fear of a movie maker is whether or not the audience will enjoy the film. I mean, I got a gut feeling on whether or not this joke hits hard, or whether this scene delivers the emotions intended. But that's just me. When other people laugh at the jokes, then I know I've accomplished my goal. It's different than being a stand-up comedian: you tell a joke and get an immediate response. As a movie maker, you work on a joke for several months, editing it to get the timing just right. Sometimes I would get the gut feeling while I'm editing that I hit gold. Other times I wouldn't be sure.
We've already had two premieres, so I kinda knew what reactions to expect on this third showing. At least I thought I knew.
After the movie ended, people came up to me and congratulated me on the movie, asking me if I was planning to go to film school, etc. The younger kids raved about the movie. I had made Hero Camp just for them. My peers enjoyed it, giving me thoughtful critique (I think). Timmy just hid in the corner like he always does at the premieres.
My goal even at a younger age was to always make my next movie better than the last. I don't want to tread over old ground with the next movie and make it just as exciting as Ultrakids 4. I've honestly been my movie's biggest critic, always pushing for more emotion, more comedy. And I'm proud of Ultrakids 4. In my opinion, it was ten times better than Ultrakids 3, which was ten times better than Ultrakids 2.
This may be the last Ultrakids. I said that before Ultrakids 3. But I will continue making movies for the glory of God because that's a passion He's given me. That passion for filmmaking inside of me had never been more realized during the production of Ultrakids 4, when I spent nearly 50 hours working on the fireball sequence at the end of the movie (which lasted a minute and a half). But it felt like nothing to me because I knew it was going to look awesome.
God I ask for Your guidance. I don't know what the future holds, and it's probably none of my business anyways. All I want to do is to walk with You, making movies that glorify Your name, using this passion You've given me to the fullest extent. You know my future, You planned every day out before I was born. To put my own plan in front of Yours would be suicide. God, protect me from my pride. Always remind me of the trials I overcame with Your help while making the Ultrakids movies. You are holy God. You are almighty. To You belongs all praise and worship.

I'm putting up the script to Ultrakids 4: Hero Camp. You can check it out, see the differences between it and the actual movie.

Some noticeable differences:
  1. No Invisigirl scene. It wasn't originally in the script. Neither was the Bet On It lip sync. The plan was to have Timmy sing a mournful song but we couldn't find the right one. Also it didn't make sense for him to be sad, then suddenly change and give "the moral of the story" to Braedan in a later scene. So the new plan was to have Invisigirl visit Hero Camp and convince him to stay. The scene would act as a "transition" into the next scene. In reality, it was just an excuse to have Timmy dance like Zac Efron.
  2. Originally, Ryan's character was not going to be so mean to Kai. I was planning to have another person be Kai's enemy, but since he wasn't able to be there I put Ryan in his place, of which Ryan did a great job.
  3. Kai doesn't have ANY dialogue in the script except "DESTINY DUCK!" in the climax. And we ended up not filming that. So in the movie, we switched it up so Chris discovers Hannah's ransom note and give it to Timmy, giving Kai an excuse to talk.

The list goes on. I'm sure you can find a million other slight differences from script to movie, as well as the scenes that went exactly as planned.

I just had an interesting thought:

Go to the "Watch Ultrakids" page and watch some of the first Ultrakids movie, Something Is Rotten.

Then go to the bottom of the page and watch some of Ultrakids 4: Hero Camp.

See the difference? :D

It's hard to believe it's been over 4 years since we made the first movie. For me, it's the coolest testimony of growth for the actors and myself.
