I'm in the process of editing the first footage from Ultrakids 4: Hero Camp (official title!). It may just be the best Ultrakids movie yet!
I try to improve the quality of the films with each Ultrakids movie, and one thing I wanted to emphasize in this one was character development. Basically there are three main characters: Odor boy, Brooke, and Kai, and they all have parallel stories. And even from the little I have already edited, I can see the character's changing within the scenes. It's going to be a great story with a great lesson in the end about acceptance.
Okay, gotta get back to editing!
For those of you who don't know what color correction is, it's basically what movie studios do to give their movie a certain 'look.' Well lo and behold, tests for Ultrakids 4 color correction is being done, and above is a badly rendered images showing one of the tests, but just focus on the color difference between the two pictures.
Normally when I have a long, complex project like Ultrakids, I start out by filming the climax first and that's what we're going to be doing this Saturday. We're gonna be outside for 5 hours, shooting the two big parallel battle scenes in the movie.
These scenes have very little dialogue and a lot of action, so timing here is key. For the past several days, I've been listening to the score (taken from Star Wars and Transformers) and just timing the scenes down to the last second.
Not all the bad guy actors have been cast yet, so please pray that God will provide them.
